Tuesday December 12, 2000. On that day I asked my 8th grade social studies teacher a plaintive question: "How can this happen?" It was six days after my 14th birthday and the Supreme Court of the United States had just declared George Walker Bush to be President-elect. It's been a lovely 6 1/2 years George. Get the fuck out.
